Like Hot Chip (another of our Book and Record Shop selections), Metronomy are a great British band that have been making sophisticated and original music for over 25 years. This is a collection culled from their seven studio albums which embraces all of their quirks and their unusual ability to combine a distinctive sound with accessible pop music.

This serves as a terrific introduction to a band who have always done well but escaped many music fan’s attentions. Or, of course, it’s one for completists. We’ve had it on repeat in the studio. It’s hard to escape from.
