Leather Dog Lead
These are made using the Holy Grail of leathers, tanned in Britain and dyed using bark to achieve a subtle, smoky finish. There are very few (less than a handful?) of bark-dying tanneries left in Britain, so this leather is special, storied and romantic.
It is full grain and gently tanned, meaning that all natural marks that were on the animal remain visible. Each hide is hand-dyed individually, so there is a wonderful variation between hides and even across individual skins.
Initially the leads mark quite noticeably -our lurcher has been wearing one for a while- but with time and leather conditioner, they darken and take on the richest, most satisfying depth and patina. And treated properly they will last for many years.
The contrast stitching is a subtle dusty pink (good for the gents as well as the ladies, but perhaps not suited to aggressive male guard dogs). The brass fixtures are British made, heavy, solid and tactile.
