We asked our friend Rosa, who makes many different types of brush with deep skill and passion, to create an exclusive brush for us. Here it is; this is the first time that Rosa has used such clean lines and colour for the handle. It will last for a very long time indeed, perhaps forever if you take care of it. But it is also a beautiful object that can be displayed and you can’t often say that about a broom.

Materials

Made from broomcorn, beech wood, nylon and leather. Broomcorn is a natural fibre, a type of sorghum, which is cultivated -as the name suggests- for its stiff and wiry stems to make brushes. The wooden handle is turned beech, painted with mineral paint, and then oiled.

“I am an inveterate collector of vernacular objects and have amassed quite a collection of Rosa Harradine’s wonderful brushes over the last few years. We’d met a few times and so I asked her if she might create something exclusive for us. I’m thrilled that she agreed and equally thrilled with the results.”
