Craftland by James Fox

This important book about the disappearance of British craft is a luminous and tender love letter to declining industry and the people and places that are shaped by it. It is at once incredibly lyrical and informative, and shimmers with the author’s admiration for craft. It is an important, educational and moving book that not only teaches us about making but about who we are, why we are who we are, and how Britain was shaped by its industry. I can’t recommend this too highly. It is a masterpiece.
