This is a 20^th anniversary edition of Richard Hawley’s fourth album.

Richard Hawley is as British a musician as they come; modest, passionate about his home city of Sheffield and a keen advocate of proper pubs. And yet his music is rooted in the work of Elvis Presley and Scott Walker, making his music universal.

This album is beautiful, tender, rich with melody. It is highly accessible but also endlessly rewarding. It’s a close-run thing, because all of Hawley’s work is wonderful, but I think that this is his best album. Whatever, it’s one of those albums that you kind of have to have.
